After the fluid breaks down it could lead to longer braking distances. Also, brake fluid becomes acidic. After long periods, the fluid could cause rusting and corrosion in important components. These include the brake calipers, wheel seals, and brake lines. Brake fluid is vital to the vehicle's braking system and keeping your vehicle safe.
